About Company:

Sunplast is a leading plastic manufacturing company in Nigeria with almost 30 years experience in the plastic manufacturing industry. Sun Group entered into the Plastics industry through the acquisition of a plant in Sango Ota, Ogun State in 1991. A second plant was installed and commissioned in 2000 in Lagos. In 2015 both plants were merged under one roof in Ogun State. The plants, which operate under the names Bright Products Limited and Sunplast Industries Limited, are equipped with top-of-the-line injection molding machines from China, India and Taiwan.

Job Description:

• The Logistics Manager is responsible for end-to-end transportation, dispatch, and fleet operations
• This role ensures timely delivery of finished goods, efficient utilization of company-owned trucks, cost control, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Fleet Management (Company-Owned Trucks):

• Manage daily operations of company-owned truck fleet
• Ensure optimal truck utilization and route planning
• Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and breakdown management
• Track fuel consumption and control fuel costs
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, permits, and insurance

Dispatch & Distribution:

• Plan and execute dispatch schedules based on production output
• Coordinate with production and warehouse teams for timely loading
• Ensure on-time delivery to customers and distributors
• Optimize route planning to reduce transit time and costs

Cost Control & Optimization:

• Monitor logistics cost per km / per ton
• Implement cost-saving initiatives (route optimization, load consolidation)
• Analyze transportation KPIs and improve efficiency

Vendor & Driver Management:

• Manage drivers, helpers, and transport staff
• Handle driver allocation, shift planning, and performance monitoring
• Ensure driver compliance with safety and company policies
• Liaise with external transport vendors if required

Documentation & Compliance:

• Ensure accurate documentation (LTO,LTI’s)
• Maintain fleet records, permits, insurance, and regulatory compliance
• Handle audits related to transport and logistics

Technology & Reporting:

• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports
• Track KPIs such as:
  • On-time delivery
  • Cost per km
  • Fleet utilization
  • Downtime

Safety & Risk Management:

• Ensure adherence to road safety standards
• Implement driver training programs
• Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
• 5–10 years of experience in logistics/fleet management
• Experience in manufacturing industry (preferably plastics/FMCG)

Preferred Experience:

• Handling in-house fleet (not only third-party transporters)
• Experience in high-volume dispatch environments
• Knowledge of local transport regulations

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of fleet management and logistics operations
• Experience in managing company-owned truck fleets
• Good understanding of route planning and cost optimization
• Leadership and team management skills
• Analytical mindset with strong reporting ability
• Familiarity with ERP / logistics software
