Job Description:

We are looking for a highly organized and analytical Inventory Controller (Spares) to join our operations team in Lagos. In this role, you will be the custodian of our spare parts inventory, ensuring that we maintain optimal stock levels, rigorous financial integrity, and efficient operational workflows.

You will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of our spares from procurement and branding to usage, reconciliation, and scrap disposal. If you have a strong background in inventory management, financial discipline, and a knack for process improvement, this is the perfect role to showcase your skills.

Requirements:

Store & Inventory Management

• Operational Oversight: Coordinate the day-to-day running of the spare parts store, supervising inventory personnel to ensure adherence to warehousing best practices.

• Accuracy & Integrity: Conduct regular, periodic stock counts for spares, lubricants, and tyres to maintain the integrity of our inventory records.

• Lifecycle Management: Manage the "First Expired, First Out" (FEFO) strategy for tyre inventory and ensure strict procedures for returning old parts before issuing new ones.

• Documentation: Ensure all Store Issue Vouchers (SIVs), Work Orders, and Goods Received Notes (GRNs) are properly authorized, documented, and reflected in the system.

Planning & Procurement

• Stock Optimization: Monitor reorder levels, execute purchase requests, and ensure that every item supplied to the store has a valid Purchase Order.

• Branding & Tracking: Ensure new stock (especially tyres) is branded, tagged with serial numbers, and correctly entered into the system for easy identification and reconciliation.

Financial Reporting & Cash Management

• Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of stock accounts and ensure correct accounting entries are made for all transport inventory operations.

• Cash & Expense Control: Manage operational cash floats (iManager), facilitate payments, and handle cash dispensing via the Duplo platform.

• Budgetary Control: Monitor expenses, enforce budget policies, and provide accurate, timely financial reports to assist management in effective planning and decision-making.

Scrap Management

• End-to-End Disposal: Oversee the scrap disposal process, including the sale committee process, managing prospective bidders, analyzing bids, and coordinating the removal of scraps while keeping the scrap area clean.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: BSc or HND in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Experience: 3–5 years of solid, hands-on experience in complete inventory management.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in inventory planning and forecasting for spares.

  • Proficiency in SAP and Instanta software is required.

  • Strong capability in financial record-keeping and reconciliation.

• Personal Attributes: You are disciplined, possess a high level of integrity, and have a sharp eye for detail. You are comfortable interfacing with technical specialists, procurement teams, and external vendors.
