Job Description:

We are seeking a highly adaptable and strategic HR Business Partner to build, scale, and nurture our global "Group" team. As the dedicated HRBP for our team of 40+ employees across 8 countries (including Canada, China, Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, and the US), you will be the bridge between our global leadership and our talent. This is a foundational, "roll-up-your-sleeves" role for someone who excels at building HR infrastructure from scratch, shifting seamlessly from coaching senior leaders on organizational design to managing the precision of global payroll data. If you are passionate about scaling startup culture in a cross-cultural environment, this is your opportunity to shape the people-systems of Jaza during its most exciting growth phase.

Requirements:

  • Strategic Business Partnership: Act as the primary HR partner for Group managers. Coach leaders on performance management, organizational design, and leadership development, ensuring a consistent Jaza management style across diverse, distributed teams.

  • Talent & Performance Cycle: Own the annual performance management cycle, from goal setting to final evaluations. Partner with the Talent Lead to ensure a high-quality candidate experience and onboarding process for new hires.

  • Employee Relations & Culture: Lead all employee relations for the Group team, including managing complex grievances, investigations, and conflict resolution. Act as a champion for employee wellbeing, engagement, and culture-building initiatives.

  • HR Operations & Administration: Maintain rigorous accuracy in all employee records and HR systems. Oversee monthly payroll data verification across all 8 jurisdictions and manage global benefits administration.

  • Global Compliance & EOR Management: Ensure 100% compliance across all operating countries. Own the strategic relationships with our Employer of Record (EOR) partners and liaise with local labor law experts to mitigate risk and maintain legal alignment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Law, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

  • Experience: 5–8 years of agile HR experience, with at least 3 years actively acting as an HRBP supporting teams across multiple African countries.

  • Global Expertise: Deep, practical understanding of labor laws and practices in Africa is required. Exposure to Asian and Western markets (Canada, China, US) is a strong advantage.
