Job Description:
Our client, a major player in the Agro-commodity business, is seeking a high-energy, "boots-on-the-ground" HR & Admin Manager. Unlike traditional strategic HR roles, this is a ground-level execution position requiring a candidate who thrives on direct involvement. You will be responsible for building the workforce from the bottom up leading aggressive recruitment for blue-collar and mid-level roles while maintaining the discipline and operational structure of warehouses and fleet teams.
The ideal candidate is a "street-smart" professional who can navigate the complexities of managing warehouse staff and drivers while ensuring corporate compliance and expatriate support.
Requirements:
Recruitment & Talent Management (Primary Focus)
End-to-End Hiring: Lead the full recruitment cycle for blue-collar, junior, and mid-level positions to ensure business operations are never understaffed.
Sourcing: Leverage local networks, agencies, and referrals to find resilient talent suited for the agro-commodity sector.
Pipeline Management: Proactively maintain a database of vetted candidates for critical, high-turnover roles.
HR Operations & Workforce Discipline
People Management: Handle onboarding, attendance, leave records, and employee documentation with meticulous detail.
Conflict & Discipline: Act as the first point of contact for grievances; manage disciplinary actions and conflict resolution among the field and warehouse workforce.
Performance Monitoring: Ensure high productivity and strict discipline among drivers and warehouse staff, managing absenteeism and shift allocations.
Compliance: Liaise with government bodies and ensure all HR practices strictly adhere to Nigerian labor laws and statutory requirements.
Administration & Operational Support
Facility Oversight: Manage the daily administration of offices and warehouses, ensuring utilities, cleanliness, and maintenance are optimal.
Logistics Coordination: Monitor driver discipline and attendance while ensuring all company vehicle documentation is current.
Expat Support: Assist in the setup and coordination of expatriate accommodations, including utilities and basic facility management.
Vendor Relations: Coordinate with service providers and vendors, focusing on cost control and effective negotiation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience:
7–10 years in HR, recruitment, or people operations.
Direct experience in Manufacturing, Warehousing, or Field-based environments is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong command of Nigerian Labor Laws and HR best practices.
Solid understanding of basic administrative and facility operations.
Core Competencies:
