Job Description:

We are seeking a technically elite and mission-driven Engineering Manager to lead our Commercial Systems division. In this remote, Lagos-based role, success is defined by "Architectural Impact", the ability to not only design and scale internal products but to build a world-class team of engineers capable of exceeding the highest academic and professional standards. This role is designed for a "Technical Architect & People Catalyst", a leader with an exceptional track record who can blend "High-Level Language Grit" (Golang, Python, Java) with the strategic foresight required to align software engineering with business-critical needs.

Your mission is to ensure "Internal Product Excellence and Continuous Engineering Growth." You will be the primary steward of our commercial software ecosystem: responsible for leading high-performing software engineers, optimizing legacy processes, and delivering high-impact solutions. Requirements:

1. Product Stewardship & Technical Architecture

• Internal Product Ownership: Take full accountability for the end-to-end design, development, and lifecycle management of internal commercial products.

• Process Evolution: Proactively seek and implement improvements to established engineering processes, architectural designs, and software solutions to enhance system reliability.

• Business-Value Alignment: Build a deep understanding of core business needs (Sales, Accounting, Operations) to ensure engineering efforts deliver the highest possible impact.

2. High-Performance People Leadership

• Team Orchestration: Lead and coordinate a team of elite software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and extreme accountability.

• Talent Development: Actively develop the skills and career paths of direct reports, ensuring the team remains at the cutting edge of modern software engineering practices.

• Global Collaboration: Utilize excellent presentation and English communication skills to align with international stakeholders, including participation in bi-annual global company events.

3. Advanced Engineering & SRE Integration

• Performance Engineering: Oversee the performance profile of commercial systems, ensuring low latency and high scalability across the stack.

• Reliability & Governance: (Nice-to-have) Leverage SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) principles and data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity and system uptime.

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to integrate robust analytics and business intelligence into commercial products.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Undergraduate Degree in a technical subject (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) or a compelling narrative of a self-taught technical path.

• Academic Excellence: An exceptional track record from both high school and university, demonstrating consistent high achievement.

• Technical Mastery: Proven professional experience in a high-level language (Golang, Python, Java, or similar) and a solid grasp of software design patterns.
