About Company:
Oilserv Limited is a leading provider of integrated engineering, procurement, construction, installation & commissioning (EPCIC) services and complementary solutions across the asset and program life cycle within the onshore, offshore and subsea market segments of the oil and gas sector.
Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer with a distinguished track record in the Oil & Gas sector to join our engineering team in Rivers State. This is a senior-level role requiring a mastery of complex power distribution, grounding, and control systems within high-stakes industrial environments. You will be responsible for the end-to-end electrical lifecycle—from initial load calculations and FEED to the commissioning of large-scale systems in potentially hazardous atmospheres.
The ideal candidate is a COREN-registered professional who combines deep technical expertise with the leadership skills necessary to mentor junior engineers and manage vendor relationships effectively.
Requirements:
Electrical System Design & Analysis
Core Design: Design robust power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems specifically for Oil & Gas facilities.
Technical Drafting: Develop critical electrical documentation, including Single-Line Diagrams (SLD), schematics, and detailed wiring diagrams.
Engineering Calculations: Perform precise load calculations and voltage drop analyses to ensure system stability and efficiency.
Equipment Specification: Specify high-value electrical assets, including transformers, switchgear, motors, and industrial cabling.
Safety, Compliance & Hazardous Areas
Standard Adherence: Ensure all designs and installations comply with international standards (IEEE, IEC, NEC, API) and local safety regulations.
Explosive Atmospheres: Conduct hazardous area classifications and design specialized systems for safe operation in explosive environments.
Risk Management: Actively participate in safety studies, including HAZOP and comprehensive risk assessments.
Project Execution & Lifecycle Management
Procurement Support: Prepare technical specifications and bid documents; evaluate vendor proposals to provide expert technical recommendations.
Field Oversight: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning phases, providing on-site technical support during construction and start-up.
Vendor Coordination: Review vendor documents and coordinate with contractors and clients to ensure integrated project delivery.
Lifecycle Expertise: Manage electrical engineering activities through all phases, from feasibility and FEED to final hand-over.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Professional Status
Degree: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering. A Master’s degree (M.Sc.) is an added advantage.
Registration: Mandatory registration with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria).
Experience & Industry Track Record
Seniority: Minimum of 7–10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
EPC Expertise: Proven experience in large-scale Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects within the Oil & Gas industry is paramount.
Onshore/Offshore: Demonstrated experience working on both onshore and offshore projects is highly desirable.
