Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Customer Relationship & Business Development Officer to act as the primary interface between our organization and our valued clients. In this dual-focus role, you will be responsible for nurturing existing relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and identifying strategic growth opportunities to expand our revenue base. You will bridge the gap between technical operations and commercial success, ensuring that service delivery is seamless and that no business opportunity is left unpursued.
The ideal candidate is a disciplined professional with strong commercial awareness and the interpersonal skills to manage complex B2B accounts in a technical or industrial environment.
Requirements:
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Relationship Stewardship: Serve as the dedicated point of contact for existing customers, ensuring their inquiries, requests, and complaints are resolved with speed and professionalism.
Retention Strategy: Conduct consistent engagement activities and follow-ups to improve customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
Service Lifecycle Management: Coordinate critical follow-ups, including service reminders and calibration due-date notifications, to ensure zero downtime for our clients.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of customer communication history and account data within our CRM systems.
Business Development & Revenue Expansion
Growth Identification: Proactively identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling our technical services to existing clients.
Proposal Management: Assist in the development of accurate quotations, business proposals, and persuasive customer presentations.
Lead Conversion: Rigorously follow up on pending quotations and business leads to maximize conversion rates and revenue growth.
Market Insights: Monitor industry trends and provide management with actionable insights based on direct customer feedback and market observations.
Account Coordination & Operational Support
Cross-Functional Liaison: Coordinate closely with technical and operations teams to ensure that service delivery timelines are met and customer expectations are exceeded.
Job Tracking: Monitor the progress of customer jobs, ensuring that calibration certificates, reports, and relevant documentation are delivered on time.
Account Administration: Support the management of contracts and essential account documentation to ensure compliance and organizational clarity.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
Database Integrity: Keep the customer database and CRM records updated in real-time.
Analytical Reporting: Prepare periodic reports detailing engagement activities, pending quotations, retention rates, and potential revenue opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Degree: HND or B.Sc. in Business Administration, Marketing, Mass Communication, or a related field.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in CRM, sales support, account management, or business development.
Sector Advantage: Previous experience in B2B services, technical engineering, or industrial sectors is a significant advantage.
Required Skills & Competencies
Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical value into commercial benefits.
Organizational Discipline: Exceptional follow-up ability and the discipline to manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously.
