Job Description:

We are seeking a disciplined and analytical Credit Risk Officer to join our operations in Ekiti. In the microfinance and asset finance sector, success is defined by "Underwriting Precision", the ability to assess a borrower’s capacity and character with absolute accuracy before capital is deployed. This role is designed for a "Risk Steward" who can blend "Meticulous Documentation" with the "Analytical Grit" required to manage high-volume loan appraisals and delinquency reporting.

Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Error Disbursement and Proactive Portfolio Monitoring." You will be the primary engine of our credit cycle: responsible for loan booking, Bosak Asset Finance (BAFL) processing, and serving as the administrative anchor for the Area Committee and Delinquency meetings. If you possess "Operational Integrity," advanced Excel reporting skills, and a commitment to maintaining a healthy loan book, we want you to drive our financial stability.

Requirements:

1. Loan Appraisal & Underwriting Orchestration

  • Credit Analysis: Conduct thorough loan appraisals and pre-chats with customers to validate identity, business viability, and repayment capacity.

  • Disbursement Governance: Prepare and verify confirmation lists and credit search reports for all approved loans, ensuring 100% compliance with internal credit policies.

  • Asset Finance Mastery: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Bosak Asset Finance (BAFL), from initial processing and booking to final disbursement.

2. Portfolio Reporting & Intelligence

  • Data Fidelity: Maintain accurate records of all manual and digital loan disbursements using BTL excel sheets, Membership lists, and core banking applications.

  • Reporting Cadence: Generate critical weekly reports for ALCO (Asset and Liability Committee) and the Management team, providing a "Real-Time" snapshot of the active loan book.

  • Delinquency Management Support: Produce expected repayment reports for Delinquency Management Officers to trigger early intervention for at-risk accounts.

3. Administrative & Field Leadership

  • Committee Stewardship: Serve as the Secretary for the Area Committee Meeting (for high-value loans above ₦100,000) and the Delinquency Meeting, ensuring all decisions are documented and implemented.

  • Field Logistics: Execute field disbursements for specific business units, ensuring that the physical transfer of value is handled with the highest level of security and professionalism.

  • Receipt Governance: Process and release BAFL receipts and documentation, ensuring customers have clear records of their financial obligations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Experience: Proven experience in credit risk, loan appraisal, or microfinance operations.

  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (specifically BTL and data recording sheets) and core banking/loan booking software.

  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills for effective customer pre-chats and committee participation.

Core Competencies

  • Accuracy: High level of discipline in recording financial data manually and digitally.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify red flags in loan applications before approval.

  • Integrity: Ability to handle sensitive financial information and field disbursements with honesty.
