Job Description:

EcoSusPro is currently spearheading a large-scale, integrated rice production and processing operation in Torugbene, Delta State. We are building a fully functional rice value chain—from land development and complex irrigation systems to modern processing and storage facilities.

We are seeking a seasoned, execution-focused Civil/Structural Engineer to lead the design, execution, and supervision of all civil works. This is a hands-on leadership role; we are looking for a builder, not just a designer. Requirements:

Engineering Leadership & Project Management

• Project Ownership: Lead and manage all civil and structural works, ensuring total design integrity and construction excellence.

• Site Development: Plan and supervise land clearing, earthworks, and site preparation. Focus on efficient sequencing, equipment utilization, and cost-effective delivery per hectare.

• Infrastructure Design: Oversee the construction of rice mill facilities, warehouses, and storage units. Ensure structural integrity, material optimization, and efficient layout planning.

• Water Management: Design and implement drainage, irrigation, and water management systems that are hydraulically efficient, flood-resilient, and maintainable under Delta conditions.

• Execution & Discipline: Coordinate contractors, consultants, and site teams. Enforce workflow efficiency and accountability across all workstreams.

Operational Optimization

• Value Engineering: Continuously review designs and construction methods to reduce unnecessary costs, improve constructability, and enhance long-term durability.

• Compliance & HSE: Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. Ensure all works comply with approved engineering designs and regulatory requirements.

• Financial Oversight: Manage procurement, cost benchmarking, and BOQ management. Actively challenge inefficiencies to keep project costs under control.

• Reporting: Prepare technical reports, site documentation, and progress updates for senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: B.Sc. or HND in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.

• Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience. A proven track record in delivering similar large-scale agricultural or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

• Professional Registration: Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is required. Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) is an added advantage.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience in earthworks, irrigation infrastructure, and drainage systems.

  • Proficiency in engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD).

  • Experience in challenging terrains, particularly flood-prone or delta environments.

• Competencies: Strong ability in cost control, project scheduling, and contractor management.
