Job Description:

Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc is currently recruiting an experienced and detail-oriented Centrifugal Operator to support its sugar refining operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation, monitoring, and routine maintenance of centrifugal machines used in the refining process. This role is vital to ensuring high product quality, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operates centrifugal machines efficiently, including handling start-up, shut-down, and routine maintenance tasks.

  • Monitors centrifugal operations to ensure consistent performance, product quality, and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Performs regular equipment inspections and promptly reports abnormalities or malfunctions to the Maintenance Team.

  • Carries out routine cleaning and upkeep to maintain machines in optimal working condition.

  • Troubleshoots mechanical issues in coordination with the Maintenance Team.

  • Maintains accurate logs and documentation of machine performance, maintenance, and repair activities.

  • Adheres strictly to safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Production, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance, to support seamless operations.

  • Participates in ongoing training and development initiatives to enhance technical proficiency.

  • Undertakes additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of an OND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining centrifugal machines within a manufacturing setting.

  • Solid technical understanding of centrifugal equipment and operational procedures.

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • High level of attention to detail, with a strong focus on quality assurance and safety compliance.

  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operational setting.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficient in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Flexible and willing to work night shifts, weekends, and other non-standard hours as required.
