Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary and commercially astute Business Development Officer to lead our growth initiatives in Oyo State. In a complex industrial and service environment, success is defined by "Strategic Connectivity", the ability to identify high-value market shifts, secure alliance partnerships, and orchestrate winning technical bids. This role is designed for a "Market Architect" with 2–5 years of experience who can blend "Relational Diplomacy" with the "Analytical Rigor" required to manage competitive databases and complex RFP/Q processes.
Your mission is to ensure "Sustained Market Expansion and Brand Authority." You will be the primary driver of our corporate trajectory: responsible for identifying new business partners, supervising the proposal lifecycle alongside the Projects and HSE teams, and managing key relationships with government functionaries. Requirements:
1. Market Architecture & Technical Bidding
Growth Vision: Establish and maintain high-level policies and goals that align with the company’s vision for future scalability and market dominance.
Proposal Orchestration: Team up with the Head of Projects and HSE Services Manager to supervise the Request for Proposal/Quotation (RFP/Q) process, ensuring technical and commercial submissions are elite.
Market Intelligence: Develop and administer a robust Marketing Database containing competitor pricing, product quality benchmarks, and detailed prospect information.
2. Strategic Alliance & Relationship Diplomacy
Partner Acquisition: Identify potential business and alliance partners, negotiating high-stakes agreements that expand our service capabilities.
Stakeholder Management: Develop and manage deep-rooted relationships with existing clients, industry players, and relevant Government functionaries to ensure a positive brand identification.
Contract Governance: Work closely with Senior Leadership to manage contract negotiations and ensure all corporate objectives and financial targets are met within defined periods.
3. Brand Advocacy & Corporate Communications
Corporate Visibility: Oversee all corporate communications, public relations, and presence at professional trade exhibitions and industry events.
Brand Networking: Manage event sponsorships and the distribution of marketing materials to create a cohesive and powerful brand presence in the market.
Talent Leadership: Provide guidance and support to direct reports, appraising performance based on set KPIs to foster a high-performance culture.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Minimum of a BA, BSc, or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: 2–5 years of progressive experience in business development, preferably within the industrial or HSE services sector.
Technical Edge: Strong capability in developing marketing databases and analyzing financial reports.
Core Competencies
Negotiation Grit: Proven ability to influence senior-level decision-makers and close complex commercial contracts.
Analytical Prowess: Ability to map competitor movements and identify untapped market niches.
