Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptionally logical, code-literate, and structurally disciplined Application Support Engineer to anchor our core business systems in Ilupeju. Operating at the vital intersection of backend engineering and system upkeep, you will take absolute ownership of our software operational health—bridging the gap between front-facing business apps and backend databases.

This is a high-availability role engineered for a hands-on technical specialist who can maintain system uptime under demanding timelines. You will not just log tickets; you will write backend patches, optimize database objects, build system integrations, and track live application errors. Working directly on-site six days a week, you will ensure our ERP, point-of-sale (POS), and internal workflows process transactions flawlessly without synchronization lags.

Requirements:

1. Application Troubleshooting & Production Support

• First-Level Technical Triaging: Act as the definitive technical responder for all enterprise and consumer-facing business applications, rapidly isolating, diagnosing, and patching system errors.

• Service Desk Logging: Document systemic application issues, bug traces, and operational fixes within the corporate IT service desk platform, building an internal knowledge base to accelerate future resolution speeds.

• System High Availability: Monitor application health metrics continuously, executing rapid system recoveries during runtime failures to maintain business continuity.

2. Database Engineering & Performance Optimization

• Database Object Curation: Develop, review, and optimize high-performance SQL queries, views, indexes, and stored procedures within an enterprise Microsoft SQL Server landscape.

• Data Integrity Architecture: Enforce strict data consistency and real-time synchronization patterns across distinct corporate transactional environments, resolving deadlocks and ledger mismatches.

• Forensic Data Extraction: Write complex T-SQL scripts to safely manipulate data structures, resolve ledger balance mismatches, and extract business intelligence reports for management.

3. Backend Engineering, APIs & System Integration

• Microservices Development: Build, modify, and support lightweight backend microservices and automation scripts using Python or .NET (C#) frameworks.

• API Infrastructure Maintenance: Develop, deploy, and maintain robust, secure REST APIs, ensuring clean data transmission payloads between proprietary and external architectures.

• Enterprise Interface Management: Audit and configure multi-platform integrations connecting core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, POS hubs, and third-party payment gateways.

4. Cloud Infrastructure Support

• Cloud Operations Oversight: Provide baseline operational support for system deployments hosted on Microsoft Azure, tracking cloud storage pipelines, serverless functions, and active API management portals.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Academic Foundations

• Degree Baseline: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a strictly related computing discipline from an accredited tertiary institution.

Experience Parameters & System Footprints

• Domain Longevity: 2 to 3 years of progressive, verifiable experience operating as an Application Support Engineer, Backend Developer, or DevOps Specialist.

• ERP Cross-Over Advantage: Direct operational familiarity interfacing with modern enterprise resource planning systems—specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or Odoo—will be treated as a major competitive advantage.

Technical Competencies & Tool Stack

• Backend Code Literacy: Foundational command of object-oriented programming or scripting languages, with hands-on proficiency in either Python or .NET/C#.

• Database Mastery: Strong working knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), with explicit expertise in SQL Server and T-SQL script generation.

• Integration Mechanics: Clear operational understanding of Web Services, JSON payload exchange formats, RESTful API structures, and authentication protocols (OAuth, API Keys).

• Cloud Infrastructure Baseline: Basic functional navigation of Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure App Services, SQL Databases, Function Apps).
