Account Officer | Ify Klozet | Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary Ify Klozet is looking for a meticulous and analytically-driven Account Officer to manage our financial heartbeat. As we redefine fashion in Nigeria, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial records—from managing payables and receivables to high-level budgeting and forecasting. We need a professional who can look beyond the numbers to provide strategic insights that drive business growth, ensure 100% tax compliance, and maintain a seamless bridge between our sales operations and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Ledger & Financial Operations

• Data Management: Monitor and maintain the company’s general ledger, payables, receivables, and all daily financial transactions.

• Transaction Processing: Oversee the accurate processing of invoices, bills, and payments for vendors, logistics partners, and staff.

• Reconciliation: Conduct rigorous daily/weekly reconciliations of bank statements, credit accounts, and POS transactions to ensure zero discrepancies.

2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Insights

• Financial Planning: Lead the preparation of annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts to guide the company's expansion.

• Strategic Analysis: Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for cost-saving and revenue improvement.

• Audit & Tax: Prepare all necessary documentation for financial audits and ensure the brand is fully compliant with State and Federal tax regulations (VAT, WHT, etc.).

3. Compliance & Record Keeping

• Documentation: Maintain a highly organized system for both digital and physical financial records.

• Regulatory Oversight: Regularly inspect financial documentation to ensure absolute compliance with Nigerian financial laws.

• Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve accounting irregularities or queries before they escalate.

Requirements:

• Analytical Thinking: Exquisite ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Professional Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to handle vendor and team queries.

• Organization: Superior time management and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or Business Administration.

• Experience: Proven experience as an Account Officer or in a similar role (experience in a retail/fashion environment is a plus).

• Location: Must reside within Ikeja or its immediate environs.

• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Zoho Books), CRM tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel.

• Certifications: ICAN/ACCA/CPA certification is a significant advantage.
