Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Account Officer to join our finance team in Abuja. In this role, you will be responsible for the meticulous management of our financial records, ensuring strict adherence to accounting standards, and supporting the broader efficiency of our financial operations. This position is ideal for a high-integrity professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and possesses the analytical depth to manage complex reconciliations and reporting.
Requirements:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and records in accordance with standard principles.
Ledger Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring all transactions are captured and settled promptly.
Treasury & Cash Flow: Conduct regular bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to ensure operational liquidity.
Planning & Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and provide data-driven insights for financial forecasting.
Payroll & Tax: Prepare payroll schedules for timely disbursement and ensure the organization remains compliant with all tax regulations and statutory requirements.
Administrative Oversight: Handle invoicing, expense tracking, and maintain both digital and physical filing systems for all financial documentation.
Audit Support: Act as a key point of contact and provide necessary documentation for both internal and external audits.
Liaison: Maintain professional relationships with vendors, clients, and financial institutions to facilitate smooth transactions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Account Officer or in a similar financial role.
Certifications: Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is a significant advantage.
Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency in software such as QuickBooks, Excel, or Wave.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to solve problems and organize complex data with a high level of accuracy.
Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication, time management, and the ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines.
