Job Description:

• We are seeking a skilled Unix Engineer to support the administration, optimization, and security of our enterprise Unix/Linux infrastructure. The role involves system installation, configuration, automation, platform upgrades, and troubleshooting across Red Hat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and Solaris environments.
• The successful candidate will contribute to key initiatives, including operating system migration, centralized platform management, patching, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure modernization.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL), and Solaris operating systems.
• Lead and support migration from Oracle Enterprise Linux to Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Perform operating system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
• Integrate systems with RedHat Satellite for centralized management.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using Ansible and scripting (Bash/Python).
• Manage virtualized environments including Oracle VM Manager, KVM, and VMware vCenter.
• Conduct system monitoring, capacity optimization, and performance tuning.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and break/fix support for infrastructure issues.
• Support ITIL service management processes, including incident, change, and problem management.
• Perform platform upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in Linux/Unix system administration (RHEL preferred).
• Hands-on experience with RedHat Satellite, Ansible Automation Platform, and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of DNS, NFS, LDAP/Kerberos, Apache, and NTP services.
• Experience with virtualized environments such as KVM, Oracle VM, or VMware.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• At least 5 years hands on experience.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Relevant certifications such as RHCE, RHCSA, or ITIL will be an advantage.
