Job Description:
Tax Compliance:
- Developing and implementing Business Tax Strategies that will support the overall Strategic focus of the business
- Ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities and reconciliation with financial records.
- Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, advising management on implications for the business.
- Support tax planning initiatives to optimize the organization’s tax position.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all corporate governance, statutory filings, and regulatory requirements (CAC, FIRS, PENCOM, ITF, NSITF, etc.).
- File annual returns and other statutory documents with relevant government agencies.
- Maintain an up-to-date compliance calendar and ensure adherence to filing deadlines.
- Liaise with regulators, external auditors, and tax consultants as required.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews and risk assessments to identify potential gaps.
Reporting & Advisory:
- Provide periodic reports to management on tax exposures, compliance risks, and regulatory updates.
- Advise business units on compliance requirements for transactions, contracts, and projects.
- Support internal stakeholders with regulatory interpretations and compliance guidance.
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of tax compliance, regulatory reporting, and statutory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CITN) is an added advantage.
- 4–5 years of relevant experience in tax and regulatory compliance, preferably in a corporate or professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.) is desirable.
