Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Supply Chain / Logistics Officer to oversee the end-to-end flow of materials and finished products within our water production facility. In this role, you will be the backbone of our operational continuity, ensuring that raw materials are always available for production and that our finished water products reach distributors and customers efficiently and safely.

The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of food safety standards (NAFDAC/HACCP) and has a proven track record of optimizing delivery routes and inventory levels in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Requirements:

Procurement & Inventory Management

  • Supplier Coordination: Manage purchase requisitions and follow up with vendors to guarantee on-time delivery and prevent production downtime.

  • Inventory Integrity: Conduct regular cycle counts and full stocktakes, investigating variances and maintaining 100% accuracy in the ERP/inventory system.

  • Safety Compliance: Implement strict FIFO/FEFO (First-In-First-Out / First-Expired-First-Out) protocols to ensure material freshness and water safety compliance.

Production & Warehouse Support

  • Material Issuance: Collaborate with the Production Manager to issue materials based on Bills of Materials (BOM) and track actual consumption against standards.

  • Facility Supervision: Oversee warehouse operations to ensure clean, dry, and pest-free storage in accordance with GMP and HACCP requirements.

  • Quality Liaison: Flag potential material defects before they reach the production line and coordinate with QA for the management of returned or damaged goods.

Logistics & Distribution Excellence

  • Dispatch Planning: Schedule daily dispatches for bottled water, sachets, and dispensers, ensuring all "Proof of Delivery" documentation is accurately tracked.

  • Route Optimization: Design and refine delivery routes to minimize fuel consumption and maximize On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery to key accounts and supermarkets.

  • Fleet Oversight: Coordinate with drivers and 3PL partners, verifying vehicle hygiene, licensing, and proper loading practices to prevent contamination during transit.

Cost Control & Reporting

  • KPI Tracking: Monitor and report on key metrics including transport cost per case, inventory turns, and stockout rates.

  • Efficiency Initiatives: Identify and implement cost-saving measures in warehousing, transport, and packaging materials.

  • Audit Readiness: Support internal and external audits by providing meticulous distribution and inventory records.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, HND, or OND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 2–3 years of experience in supply chain or logistics, specifically within FMCG, beverage, or food production.

    • Hands-on experience with perishable goods or bottled water is a significant advantage.

  • Technical Knowledge:

    • Solid understanding of NAFDAC regulations, HACCP, and GMP.

    • Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Integrity: High level of accountability and transparency in inventory and cash handling.
