Job Description:
Corona College of Education Consult is seeking elite Remote Examiners to architect high-quality assessments for a major institutional client. This is a specialized, high-integrity role focused exclusively on the development of Examination and Continuous Assessment Test (CAT) items.
As a Remote Examiner, you will be responsible for translating complex curricula into clear, valid, and reliable assessment tools. This role isn't just about "writing questions"; it’s about designing items that accurately measure cognitive learning outcomes while adhering to strict psychometric standards. If you are a subject matter expert with a passion for academic rigor and assessment design, we invite you to help us shape the future of student evaluation.
Requirements:
1. Assessment Design & Item Writing
Curriculum Alignment: Develop exam and CAT questions that map directly to approved syllabi, ensuring every item measures a specific learning objective.
Cognitive Leveling: Design questions that span various difficulty levels, from basic recall to high-order critical thinking (using frameworks like Bloom’s Taxonomy).
Marking Schemes: Prepare comprehensive marking guides and rubrics that ensure objective and standardized grading across all examinees.
2. Quality Assurance & Psychometric Validity
Item Revision: Proactively revise and refine assessment items based on peer feedback, pilot testing data, or editorial reviews.
Clarity & Validity: Ensure every question is free from ambiguity, cultural bias, or technical errors, maintaining the "validity" (measuring what it intends to measure) of the test.
Technical Rigor: Follow best practices in item construction to avoid common pitfalls like "clueing" or leading questions.
3. Integrity & Deadline Management
Confidentiality: Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and strict non-disclosure protocols regarding examination content.
Deadline Precision: Manage multiple item-writing batches independently, ensuring 100% on-time delivery to meet the client’s examination cycles.
Subject Excellence: Maintain deep, up-to-date knowledge of your specific subject area to ensure all content is academically current.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area (Education, Sciences, Arts, or Social Sciences). A Master’s degree is a significant advantage.
Experience: Proven experience in teaching, curriculum development, or professional exam item writing.
Integrity: A track record of high ethical conduct in academic or professional settings.
Core Competencies
Assessment Literacy: Strong understanding of assessment design principles (Reliability, Validity, and Fairness).
Written Communication: Exceptional ability to write clear, concise, and grammatically perfect questions and instructions.
Analytical Detail: An "editor’s eye" for identifying errors in logic, facts, or formatting.
Independence: The ability to function effectively in a 100% remote environment with minimal supervision.
