Job Description:

We are looking for an astute and highly analytical Procurement Officer to lead our purchasing activities and optimize our supply chain. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all purchased items ranging from essential services to high-end equipment are both cost-efficient and of the highest quality. You will balance strategic vendor management with rigorous internal oversight, ensuring that every transaction aligns with company standards and budgetary goals.

The ideal candidate is a master negotiator with a keen eye for market trends and the leadership skills necessary to supervise a high-performing purchasing department.

Requirements:

Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation

  • Supplier Relations: Research, evaluate, and onboard prospective suppliers; maintain positive, long-term relationships and negotiate favorable contract terms.

  • Market Analysis: Keep up with product and service trends to identify the best supply options and ensure the company remains competitive.

  • Contract Management: Maintain and update a comprehensive database of supplier qualifications, delivery lead times, and product ranges.

Departmental Oversight & Planning

  • Team Supervision: Oversee and supervise employees within the purchasing department, ensuring all daily activities are executed accurately.

  • Procurement Planning: Prepare detailed plans and schedules for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.

  • Policy Enforcement: Strictly follow and enforce the company's procurement policies and procedures to ensure transparency and accountability.

Financial Control & Documentation

  • Evaluation & Approval: Review, compare, and analyze products and services; authorize purchases that meet quality and cost-efficiency benchmarks.

  • Inventory & Records: Manage inventories and maintain meticulous records of all purchases, pricing, and historical stock movements.

  • Budgeting: Prepare accurate budgets, detailed cost analyses, and monthly procurement reports for senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:

    • Minimum of a High School Diploma / GED.

    • A Degree in Accounting, Business Management, or a similar field is strongly preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 2+ years of experience as a procurement officer or in a similar purchasing role.

    • Proven supervisory and management experience is essential.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and specialized purchasing/ERP software.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to conduct cost-benefit analyses and think strategically about supply chain risks.

    • Negotiation: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of securing favorable deals.

    • Attention to Detail: Precision in record-keeping and reviewing complex supplier contracts.
