We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy staff with daily tasks, gain practical experience, and develop skills to become a registered pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Pharmacists and Pharmacy Staff:
  • Assist with dispensing medication, processing prescriptions, and handling patient inquiries.
  • Support pharmacists with clinical services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings.
  • Maintain patient records, update profiles, and ensure confidentiality.

Operational Tasks:

  • Manage inventory, stock shelves, and perform cycle counts.
  • Process and package medication for dispensing.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, work areas, and patient waiting areas.

Patient Care:

  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns.
  • Assist patients with medication-related questions and concerns.
  • Support pharmacists with patient counseling and education.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and manage fax communications.
  • Process payments, manage cash handling, and reconcile transactions.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.

Learning and Development:

  • Participate in training programs, workshops, and conferences to develop pharmacy skills and knowledge.
  • Complete assignments, projects, and rotations to gain practical experience.
  • Receive feedback, guidance, and mentorship from experienced pharmacists and pharmacy staff.

Requirements:

Certifications:

  • B.Sc Biochemistry, Microbiology
  • One year post-NYSC job experience
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) or Certified Clinical Pharmacy Technician (CCPhT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Work Environment:

  • Retail pharmacy

  • May require occasional overtime or weekend shifts
