PHARMACIST - BORNO AT MEDECINS DU MONDE | PHARMACY JOBS IN BORNO

Borno, Nigeria | Posted on 04/02/2026

About Company:

Medecins Du Monde - For more than 30 years, Medecins Du Monde, a campaigning medical organisation committed to international solidarity, has been caring for the most vulnerable populations at home and abroad. It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Pharmacy Officer to lead our pharmaceutical operations. Working under the technical supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and the management of the Program Manager, you will be the custodian of the medical supply chain—ensuring that life-saving medications are procured, stored, and distributed with clinical precision.

This is a high-responsibility role that blends logistics, clinical oversight, and capacity building. You will ensure that all drugs meet MdM (Médecins du Monde) and international standards, from the moment of procurement to the point of dispensation at our mobile clinics and health facilities. If you are an expert in GSDP (Good Storage and Distribution Practices) and are committed to rational drug use, this is your opportunity to drive healthcare excellence.

Requirements:

1. Quality Pharmaceutical Supply Chain

  • Strategic Procurement: Participate in needs analysis and prepare regular forecasts to initiate timely procurement in collaboration with Logistics and the Pharmacy Manager.

  • Standards Compliance: Verify that all procured drugs align with internal MdM and national regulations, participating in the validation of local suppliers via QUAMED assessments.

  • Cold Chain & FEFO Integrity: Monitor supply quantities, expiration dates, and storage temperatures (including fridge daily checks) to ensure 100% viability of the medical stock.

2. Advanced Stock & Inventory Management

  • FEFO Implementation: Organize drug storage according to international standards (Alpha-order by INN, route of administration, and First-Expiry-First-Out principles).

  • Digital Inventory Control: Ensure all items are accurately registered in stock cards and SAGASTOCK (electronic inventory software), maintaining a real-time "single source of truth."

  • Physical Audit: Organize monthly physical inventories and provide accurate stock balances to the Medical Coordinator to prevent stock-outs or expired wastage.

3. Consumption Analysis & Clinical Support

  • Rational Drug Use: Monitor drug consumption patterns across supported facilities to identify unusual trends and ensure prescription rationality.

  • Capacity Building: Conduct "on-the-job" training for dispensers and medical staff on drug prescription, storage, and dispensation protocols.

  • Stakeholder Synergy: Provide a feedback loop to clinicians and midwives regarding drug availability to allow for proactive clinical management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Degree in Pharmacy or a related pharmaceutical science discipline.

  • Experience: Proven experience in pharmacy management, preferably within an INGO or humanitarian context.

  • Technical IQ: Mastery of stock management software (e.g., SAGASTOCK) and Excel-based reporting.

Core Competencies

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to analyze consumption data to predict needs and prevent buffer stock depletion.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with logistics, medical teams, and external stakeholders.

  • Integrity: Uncompromising commitment to MdM ethical standards and pharmaceutical regulations.
