Alkem Nigeria Limited is a recycled PSF manufacturer from hot washed pet flakes and is based in Lagos, Nigeria. We have surplus capacity of hot washed pet flakes about 300 Mt/month (Clear & blue) which we want to sell in India at current prevailing price. We are PET bottle recycling company which recycles PET bottles into polyester chips, fibre and Non woven products.

Job Description:

We are seeking a disciplined and experienced Personnel Manager to lead our human resources and industrial relations functions in Lagos. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of our workforce, ensuring harmonious labor relations, and maintaining a productive organizational culture. You will bridge the gap between management and employees, overseeing everything from recruitment and compliance to conflict resolution and performance monitoring.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in industrial relations within a reputable organization and the technical proficiency to manage modern HR systems.

Requirements:

Industrial Relations & Labor Compliance

  • Labor Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for industrial relations, managing labor disputes, grievances, and collective bargaining processes.

  • Compliance: Ensure all personnel policies and practices strictly adhere to the Nigerian Labour Act and relevant industrial regulations.

  • Disciplinary Oversight: Manage disciplinary procedures fairly and consistently, maintaining accurate records of all personnel actions.

Human Resources Operations

  • Talent Management: Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of new staff to ensure a high-quality talent pipeline.

  • Performance Monitoring: Implement and manage performance appraisal systems, providing guidance to department heads on staff productivity.

  • Records Management: Maintain comprehensive and confidential personnel files, tracking leave, attendance, and career progression.

Strategic Administration

  • Policy Development: Formulate and update personnel policies that reflect the company's strategic goals and operational needs.

  • Staff Welfare: Oversee employee benefits programs and wellness initiatives to drive engagement and retention.

  • Internal Communication: Act as a liaison between senior management and staff, ensuring clear communication of corporate objectives and feedback.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration or a closely related field.

  • Experience: Proven experience in Industrial Relations or Human Resources within a reputable, structured organization.

  • Digital Literacy: Must be fully computer-literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management software.

Core Competencies

  • Leadership: Strong ability to manage diverse teams and influence organizational culture.

  • Negotiation Skills: Adept at handling complex negotiations with labor unions or individual staff members.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for reporting and interpersonal interaction.

  • Conflict Resolution: A calm and objective approach to resolving workplace disputes and maintaining industrial harmony.
