Job Description:
Stockgap Fuels is seeking a high-caliber Performance & Talent Development Manager to lead our human capital growth strategy. In this senior role, you will be the architect of our performance management framework and the driver of employee excellence. Based in Port Harcourt, you will ensure that our workforce remains technically proficient and strategically aligned to support our critical gas supply operations.
The ideal candidate is a data-driven HR leader with a deep background in organizational development and a proven ability to cultivate high-potential talent in the energy sector.
Requirements:
Performance Management & Coaching
Framework Design: Implementation and oversight of a robust performance management system that identifies top performers and addresses skill gaps.
Coaching & Mentorship: Provide direct coaching to leadership and employees, fostering a high-performance culture across gas supply units.
Continuous Monitoring: Establish regular performance review cycles and ensure feedback is constructive, timely, and documented.
Talent Development & Learning
Program Architecture: Design and execute technical and soft-skill development programs, including workshops, external certifications, and mentorship initiatives.
Succession Planning: Identify high-potential (HiPo) employees and develop structured career pathways and succession plans to ensure business continuity.
Learning Culture: Promote an environment of continuous learning and professional recognition to drive employee engagement and technical mastery.
Retention & Strategic Alignment
Retention Strategies: Develop and implement data-backed retention initiatives to minimize attrition of key personnel in the competitive oil and gas market.
Departmental Collaboration: Partner with department heads to align talent strategies with the specific operational goals of the gas supply business.
Analytics: Use data-driven insights and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of talent programs and provide actionable reports to executive leadership.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Seniority: Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience.
Sector Expertise: Proven experience within the Oil & Gas industry is strongly preferred, specifically in managing technical talent.
Technical Competencies
Organizational Development (OD): Strong background in OD interventions and change management.
Talent Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of performance appraisals, talent mapping (e.g., 9-Box Grid), and competency frameworks.
Strategic Leadership: Ability to translate complex business needs into effective people-development programs.
