Job Description:
We are seeking a highly professional and detail-oriented Optometrist to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be the primary authority on patient vision health, responsible for diagnosing refractive errors, treating common ocular conditions, and serving as the first line of defense against serious optical diseases.
The ideal candidate is a Doctor of Optometry who balances clinical excellence with a patient-centric approach. You must be adept at identifying pathologies that require specialized surgical intervention and managing timely referrals to ophthalmologists. Requirements:
1. Clinical Diagnostics & Vision Correction
Comprehensive Exams: Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and ocular health.
Refractive Management: Prescribe and fit vision aids, including spectacles and contact lenses, tailored to individual patient lifestyles.
Pathology Detection: Recognize and manage common eye conditions (e.g., conjunctivitis, dry eye) and identify complex diseases (e.g., Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration) for specialist referral.
2. Practice Administration & Tech Integration
Digital Records: Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to maintain accurate patient records, generate clinical reports, and manage appointment schedules.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full registration with the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN) and ensure a valid practicing license.
Inventory Liaison: Work with the dispensing team to ensure prescriptions are filled accurately and in a timely manner.
3. Professionalism & Growth
Patient Communication: Translate complex clinical findings into clear, understandable advice for patients.
Continuous Learning: Demonstrate a "ready-to-learn" attitude by staying updated on the latest trends in optometric technology and pharmacology.
NYSC Completion: Ensure all statutory requirements, including the completion of the National Youth Service Corps, are met.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Must possess a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) Degree.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of post-internship clinical experience.
Licensing: Duly registered with the board with a valid, current practicing license.
Statutory: Must have completed the mandatory NYSC program.
Location: Residence within or around Isolo, Lagos is an added advantage.
