The Farm, Katsina Limited is an agricultural and flour and feed mill comapny that deals in the livestock farming which includes cattle and poultry and maize flour production.

Job Description:

• The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all maintenance activities across the flour and feed mill, Dairy processing facility, and livestock units.
• The role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and processing equipment operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.
• The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance team, implement preventive maintenance programs, and support continuous improvement in plant reliability and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all plant equipment and utilities.
• Supervise maintenance operations for milling machines, mixers, conveyors, boilers, chillers, refrigeration systems, and processing lines.
• Ensure proper maintenance of yoghurt processing equipment including pasteurizers, homogenizers, filling machines, and cold rooms.
• Oversee maintenance of livestock unit equipment such as feed systems, water systems, ventilation, and waste handling systems.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Lead, train, and evaluate maintenance technicians and artisans.
• Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, and hygiene standards during all maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and equipment history.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
• Work closely with production teams to plan maintenance without disrupting operations.
• Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including cost control for parts and services.
• Liaise with external contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are required.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment efficiency and reduce breakdown frequency.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial machinery, and plant utilities.
• Experience with food processing and agro-allied production equipment.
• Good understanding of preventive maintenance systems and reliability practices.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in industrial settings.
• Good computer skills for maintenance reporting and documentation.

Working Conditions:

• The role involves working in production environments that may include noise, dust, heat, and cold areas. The Maintenance Manager may be required to work outside normal hours during emergencies or major repairs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Candidates should possess Bachelor's Degree with 5–8 years’ experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in flour milling, feed production, dairy processing, or related manufacturing environments, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
