Job Description:
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Logistics & Supply Chain Manager to lead the technical supply chain components of our healthcare programs. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless availability, distribution, and accountability of essential health products including malaria commodities and Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs). You will provide leadership to our logistics team, manage 3PL relationships, and serve as a key liaison with the National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP) and other national stakeholders.
Requirements:
Program Quality & Technical Leadership
Strategy & Quantification: Lead the design of supply chain strategies, providing technical assistance to national quantification task teams and ensuring macro/micro planning for malaria resources.
Coordination: Systematically implement procurement and supply chain strengthening activities, ensuring alignment with national health objectives and donor regulations.
Compliance & Validation: Validate technical specifications for pharmaceutical and health products, ensuring adherence to WHO, donor, and national standards.
Planning vs. Implementation: Maintain real-time tracking of procurement status, delivery schedules, and inventory of health equipment purchased with donor resources.
Management & Administration
3PL Oversight: Monitor and report on the performance of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for warehousing and distribution.
Risk Management: Implement rigorous risk-mitigation measures to prevent stockouts, losses, and mismanagement of donor-funded assets.
Reporting: Lead the preparation of supply chain updates for biannual program reports.
Representation & Stakeholder Management
Advocacy: Represent Famkris Healthcare Initiative at Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and sectoral meetings.
Partnership: Foster strong collaborative relationships with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and other technical/financial partners to ensure coordinated interventions.
Human Resources
Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and manage a team of supply chain staff, fostering a culture of high performance, motivation, and professional growth.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Pharmacy, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is a distinct advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within the health or development sector.
Sector Expertise: Proven track record in managing donor-funded projects and complex health commodity supply chains.
Core Competencies:
Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution systems.
Strategic Insight: Ability to translate complex data into actionable supply chain strategies.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage high-stakes stakeholder relationships.
