Job Description:
We are seeking a Results-Driven Strategic Counsel to join our transaction advisory division. This is a high-impact role designed for a dynamic problem-solver who can bridge the gap between complex legal frameworks and technical infrastructure advisory. You will lead the day-to-day delivery of project lifecycles—from feasibility and financial modeling to procurement and financial close.
As a "Dual-Expert," you will provide high-level legal advisory while simultaneously driving business development and managing a diverse portfolio of capital projects (EPC, PPP, etc.). If you are a self-starter with 5–7 years of experience in infrastructure advisory and a background in Nigerian Commercial Law, we invite you to help us build world-class professional services.
Requirements:
1. Legal Governance & Transaction Advisory
Legal Architecture: Conduct research and draft complex contracts, policies, and legal opinions to support high-stakes business decisions.
Transaction Execution: Lead the delivery of transaction advisory services, including project structuring, options appraisal, and procurement through to financial close.
Litigation & Risk: Coordinate with external counsel on dispute matters while internally managing risk registers and mitigation strategies.
2. Financial Modeling & Strategic Delivery
Technical Analysis: Build and analyze complex financial models to inform feasibility studies and project outcomes.
Document Leadership: Produce high-quality client materials, including Outline Business Cases (OBCs), detailed work plans, and insight reports.
Policy Advisory: Consult on national PPP policies, risk allocation matrices, and project preparation frameworks for public and private sector clients.
3. Business Development & Stakeholder Diplomacy
Ecosystem Building: Liaise with development partners, private financiers, and government officials to assess and originate new opportunities.
Bid Management: Lead the preparation of high-stakes proposals, EOIs, RFPs, and competitive challenges for unsolicited proposals.
Thought Leadership: Host capacity-building workshops (e.g., PPP Masterclasses) and produce publications that showcase the firm’s expertise to senior decision-makers.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Legal Qualification: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Call to the Nigerian Bar (Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court).
Experience: 5–7 years in infrastructure project management or capital project advisory.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree is preferred.
Sector IQ: Deep understanding of EPC/PPP contract types and the financing of capital projects across Africa.
Technical Competencies
Financial Literacy: Highly numerate; expert in building/analyzing financial models and quantitative data in MS Excel.
Analytical Writing: Exceptional ability to draft briefings, feasibility studies, and insight reports for C-suite and government audiences.
Management: Proven capability in managing interdisciplinary, inter-cultural teams across multiple time zones.
Mobility: Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required.
