Job Description:

We are seeking a high-velocity and structurally elite Internal Audit & Compliance Lead to anchor the integrity engine of our bank in Lagos. In a specialized digital landscape where institutional momentum is dictated by the speed of the transaction and the precision of the regulatory filter success is defined by "Systemic Sovereignty" the ability to harmonize independent assurance with the clinical precision required for Core Banking Systems, Digital Payment Platforms, and AML/CFT Frameworks. This role is designed for a "Governance Architect" specifically a senior leader capable of serving as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) who can blend "Audit Grit" (executing internal audit programs across all business areas) with the "Technical Agility" required to oversee Digital Transaction Monitoring and Settlement Reconciliation.

Requirements:

1. Orchestration & Audit Governance

• Sovereignty of the Audit: Plan and execute a comprehensive internal audit program covering core banking and digital platforms, acting as the primary "Source of Independent Assurance."

• Recommendation Architecture: Report high-fidelity findings and actionable recommendations to the Board Audit & Risk Committee, providing the "Structural Foundation" for management accountability.

• Integrity Stewardship: Follow up on the implementation of agreed recommendations, ensuring the "Source of Operational Improvement" is elite and uncompromised.

2. Tactical Resilience & Compliance Logic

• Regulatory Sovereignty: Monitor and ensure absolute adherence to CBN, NDIC, and AML/CFT statutory requirements, acting as the primary "Source of Statutory Fidelity."

• MLRO Architecture: Serve as the bank’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer, providing the "Functional Foundation" for timely returns and NFIU alignment.

• Risk Stewardship: Conduct compliance risk assessments across all business units, maintaining the "Source of Emerging Threat Mitigation."

3. Operational Integrity & Digital Oversight

• Digital Operations Sovereignty: Review transaction monitoring systems and ensure reconciliation between payment gateways and settlement systems, acting as the primary "Source of Financial Accuracy."

• Security Architecture: Support cyber and data security compliance in collaboration with IT, providing the "Relational Foundation" for institutional asset protection.

• Velocity Logic: Utilize Digital Operational Models to accelerate the "Audit-to-Action" cycle, maximizing the "Source of Regulatory Throughput."

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Experience: Proven experience in internal audit and compliance within a Digital Bank or Fintech environment.

• Technical Power: Deep understanding of Core Banking Systems, Digital Payment Gateways, and transaction monitoring tools.

• Regulatory Intelligence: Mastery of BOFIA, NDIC, NFIU AML/CFT Rules, and Data Protection Laws.

• Leadership: Ability to represent the bank before regulators, auditors, and the Board Risk Committee.

• Mindset: Proactive, analytical, and committed to promoting a robust risk-and-compliance culture.
