Job Description:
We are seeking a technically proficient and mission-driven ICT Officer to join our team in Adamawa. In this role, you will be the backbone of our digital operations, responsible for maintaining robust IT infrastructure, managing organizational software, and ensuring the absolute security of our data assets. You will provide critical technical support to our staff and ensure maximum system uptime to facilitate our work in underserved communities.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can manage complex networks and cloud environments while effectively communicating technical concepts to a multicultural team.
Requirements:
Infrastructure & Network Management
Hardware Setup: Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and peripheral devices across the office and field locations.
Connectivity: Ensure reliable network and internet connectivity, troubleshooting downtime and optimizing performance.
Asset Management: Manage organizational digital assets, software licenses, and hardware inventory to ensure operational continuity.
Cloud Administration & Support
Cloud Ecosystem: Manage organizational email accounts and cloud storage systems, specifically within the Google Workspace environment.
Technical Support: Provide rapid-response troubleshooting for both hardware and software issues encountered by staff.
Web & Database Maintenance: Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the organizational website (WordPress/HTML) and internal databases.
Security & Training
Data Protection: Implement and manage rigorous security protocols, including regular backups, antivirus management, and strict access controls.
Capacity Building: Train staff on essential IT skills, digital tools, and cybersecurity awareness to promote a secure digital culture.
Procurement Advice: Recommend and oversee the procurement of IT equipment and services to ensure we are using the most effective tools for our mission.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
1–3 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or systems management.
Proven proficiency in hardware troubleshooting and managing Windows/Linux systems.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of networking protocols and cloud platforms.
Familiarity with web development (HTML, WordPress) and databases (SQL) is a significant advantage.
Personal Attributes:
Communication: Excellent verbal and written English; proficiency in Hausa or local Adamawa languages is highly valued.
Mobility: Willingness to travel to field locations, including rural and underserved communities within Adamawa.
