Job Description:

We are seeking a creative, technically skilled, and brand-conscious Graphic Designer to join the founding team of a new private university in Abuja. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the visual identity of a world-class institution from the ground up, influencing how prospective students, parents, donors, and partners perceive the university.

Requirements:

• Brand & Creative Development: Develop and maintain the university’s visual identity (logos, color palettes, typography, imagery guidelines) and create a comprehensive brand style guide. Execute creative campaigns for student recruitment, Open Days, convocation ceremonies, and fundraising events.

• Design Production: Design print collateral (prospectuses, flyers, posters, banners, brochures, magazines, letterheads, business cards) and digital assets (website graphics, social media posts, email newsletters, digital ads, presentations). Produce environmental graphics (signage, wayfinding, exhibition stands, campus interior displays).

• Collaboration & Project Management: Work closely with Marketing, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs teams. Manage multiple design projects from brief to delivery under tight deadlines and liaise with external printers, sign makers, and vendors.

• Digital & Multimedia Support: Assist in basic video editing and motion graphics when required. Ensure all designs are optimized for web and mobile.

• Brand Compliance: Review all departmental materials to ensure visual consistency and maintain an organized digital asset library.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Communication Design, or a closely related field.

• Experience: 2–5 years of professional graphic design experience (corporate, agency, or institutional settings). Experience in education, publishing, or non-profit sectors is a strong plus.

• Technical Skills: Proven proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Adobe Premiere Pro / After Effects is a plus.

• Portfolio Requirements: Must demonstrate strong brand identity projects, print/digital collateral, typography, layout skills, color theory, and composition.

• Operational Skills: Experience preparing print-ready files and liaising with commercial printers.
