We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

• We are seeking a GIS Graduate Trainee to join our oil palm plantation operations.The Successfull candidate will support plantation operations through the collection, analysis, and management of spatial data.
• The trainee will gain hands-on experience in GIS applications for oil palm estate planning, crop monitoring, infrastructure mapping, and sustainability reporting under close supervision.

Key Responsibilities
GIS & Spatial Data Support:

• Assist in collecting GPS data for plantation blocks, boundaries, roads, drains, and facilities
• Support updating and maintaining GIS databases for oil palm blocks, planting years, yields, and replanting schedules
• Assist in map production for estate planning, agronomy, and management reporting
• Perform basic spatial analysis under supervision

Field Data Collection:

• Participate in field surveys and ground-truthing exercises
• Use GPS units, mobile data collection apps, and field forms
• Ensure accurate and timely data capture from plantation operations

Data Management & Reporting:

• Organize, clean, and validate spatial and attribute data
• Assist in preparing maps, charts, and GIS reports
• Support sustainability and compliance mapping (e.g. RSPO, environmental buffers)

Learning & Development:

• Participate actively in GIS training and mentoring sessions
• Follow GIS standards, data management protocols, and safety procedures
• Learn plantation operations and agricultural GIS applications

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics / Surveying, Geography,  Environmental Science, Agriculture and Forestry with GIS focus
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply

Technical Skills:

• Basic knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar)
• Understanding of spatial data concepts (coordinates, projections, layers)
• Basic computer skills (MS Office)
• Exposure to GPS and field data collection is an advantage

• Physically fit and willing to work in plantation conditions
