Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Fleet Manager to oversee the end-to-end management of our corporate vehicle fleet. Your mission is to maximize vehicle uptime, ensure absolute safety and regulatory compliance, and drive operational efficiency. You will be the primary strategist for our fleet’s lifecycle from maintenance planning and cost control to driver supervision and asset replacement.
Requirements:
Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day fleet operations, including the strategic allocation and utilization of vehicles to support business needs.
Maintenance Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. You will oversee all repairs, servicing, and technical inspections.
Compliance & Administration: Maintain meticulous records of vehicle licensing, insurance, inspections, and fueling data. You will ensure all vehicles strictly adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
Cost Control: Monitor fuel consumption patterns and maintenance spend. You will implement data-driven cost-control measures to reduce waste.
Incident Management: Lead the investigation and reporting of any vehicle incidents, accidents, or damages, coordinating with insurance and legal stakeholders as required.
Team Leadership: Supervise and evaluate drivers and fleet support staff. You will act as the key liaison between mechanics, drivers, and management.
Strategic Planning: Provide data-backed recommendations for fleet upgrades, replacements, and expansion plans based on performance metrics and vehicle lifecycles.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in fleet management or a high-level logistics coordination role.
Technical Proficiency:
Deep understanding of vehicle maintenance and mechanical systems.
Proficiency in fleet management software/systems and Microsoft Office.
Thorough knowledge of transportation safety regulations and compliance standards.
Key Competencies:
Analytical Thinking: Ability to track performance metrics and translate them into actionable operational reports.
Leadership: Strong ability to communicate expectations and manage diverse teams of drivers and service providers.
Problem-Solving: Ability to thrive under pressure when dealing with vehicle breakdowns or urgent logistical challenges.
Detail-Oriented: A disciplined approach to record-keeping and administrative oversight.
