Job Description:
Coordinate maintenance team schedules based on requests from safety, environmental, production, and other departments.
Assign responsibilities to ensure proper maintenance of machinery, equipment, and utilities, supporting QMS, food safety, and occupational health standards.
Conduct workplace risk assessments and ensure the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) system is implemented, executed, and documented.
Initiate, implement, and manage a plant maintenance program grounded in industry best practices, with focus on planning, scheduling, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
Collaborate with the MATS department to adopt global practices at the Sesame Hulling Factory, Sagamu.
Track and analyze MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) for process centers and utility sections.
Maintain complete documentation of all maintenance tasks, repairs, and upgrades, including device lists, machine criticality assessments, condition appraisals, and drawing updates.
Conduct performance evaluations and appraisals for maintenance personnel.
Develop and manage training calendars, providing skill-building exercises for the maintenance team.
Ensure 100% compliance with safety permit systems and LOTO protocols.
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Extensive experience in utilities and water treatment systems.
Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in supervising maintenance personnel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with focus on improving MTTR and MTBF.
Proficiency in maintenance planning tools, documentation systems, and compliance processes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and implementation of LOTO protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
Certified Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the FMCG industry.
