Job Description:
We are seeking a data-driven Data Analyst to transform complex insurance data into actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making across our Strategic Business Units (SBUs). This role is designed for a technical professional who can bridge the gap between raw data and executive narratives, focusing on performance improvement, risk reduction, and customer satisfaction enhancement.
The ideal candidate is an expert in the Power BI ecosystem, possessing the analytical rigor to perform root-cause investigations and the communication skills to present findings to senior leadership.
Requirements:
Data Analysis & Deep Dives
Sector Analytics: Analyze diverse insurance datasets, including claims, policies, production, renewals, and payments, to uncover hidden patterns and growth opportunities.
Root-Cause Investigation: Conduct detailed analysis on critical business challenges such as early policy surrenders, low persistency, and delayed claims processing.
Sentiment Analysis: Perform customer sentiment analysis to identify key drivers of satisfaction and loyalty.
Visualization & Dashboard Development
BI Development: Build and maintain sophisticated, interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
Technical Proficiency: Utilize DAX and Power Query/M Query to clean, model, and translate complex datasets into intuitive visual formats.
Narrative Reporting: Deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports that don't just show numbers but tell a clear story regarding business performance.
Strategic Support & Cross-Functional Partnership
Decision Support: Provide evidence-based recommendations to leadership aimed at boosting loyalty and reducing compliance risks.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Claims, Underwriting, Customer Service, and Finance teams to design relevant KPIs and provide guidance on interpreting data tools.
Data Culture: Act as a data champion, empowering non-technical teams to make decisions guided by facts rather than guesswork.
Data Governance & Process Optimization
Quality Control: Uphold high data quality standards through rigorous validation and consistency checks to ensure all insights are reliable.
Continuous Improvement: Constantly refine reporting processes to improve clarity, processing speed, and business relevance.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: HND/B.Sc. in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
Experience:
2–4 years of experience in a data analytics or business intelligence role.
Specific experience within the Insurance or Financial Services sector is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Power BI: Expert knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and dashboard design.
Data Validation: Strong skills in ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Python: Knowledge of Python for data manipulation or automation is a significant added advantage.
Certification: PL-300 (Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst) certification is an added advantage.
