Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our operational strategy and drive organizational excellence. As a core member of the executive leadership team, you will be responsible for translating high-level corporate vision into actionable operational steps. You will work in close partnership with the CEO to build a high-performance culture, optimize business processes, and scale our operations across new geographies and verticals.

The ideal candidate is a veteran leader with over two decades of experience, possessing the strategic depth to navigate complex regulatory environments and the tactical expertise to enhance employee productivity and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Strategy Execution: Collaborate with the CEO to set and drive the organizational vision and operational strategy.

  • Growth Architecture: Translate the company’s long-term strategy into actionable, measurable steps for sustainable growth and expansion.

  • Executive Collaboration: Act as a strategic partner to the board and executive team to ensure operational alignment with financial and commercial goals.

Operational Excellence & Productivity

  • Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day company operations, ensuring all departments function at peak efficiency.

  • Productivity Management: Implement systems and benchmarks to monitor and enhance employee productivity and operational output.

  • Scaling Operations: Lead the expansion of the business across different geographical regions and/or new vertical markets.

Human Capital & Compliance

  • Talent Strategy: Oversee the recruiting and retention of high-tier talent, ensuring the company has the human capital necessary to meet its growth targets.

  • Regulatory Governance: Ensure all business activities remain in full compliance with Nigerian national and local business regulations.

  • Culture Building: Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional excellence across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Academic Background

  • Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Advanced Degree: An MBA or a relevant Master’s degree is highly preferred.

Experience & Seniority

  • Track Record: 20–25+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations or general management.

  • Executive Tenure: Proven experience in a COO, General Manager (GM), or VP-level operational role.

  • Growth Mastery: Demonstrated success in scaling a business across diverse geographies and/or complex industry verticals.
