Job Description:
We are seeking a sophisticated and commercially astute Business Development Manager to lead the sustainable expansion of our Integrated Services in Lagos. In the volatile energy and petroleum trading landscape, growth is not merely about volume; it is about "Strategic Integration", the ability to position the company as a trusted partner in operations, people, and transformation. This role is designed for a "Market Architect", a professional with 8–12 years of experience who possesses an established network in bunkering and petroleum trading and the consultative grit to co-create complex solutions for public and private sector clients.
Your mission is to ensure "Market Dominance and Revenue Resilience." You will be the primary engine of our commercial function: responsible for maturing the sales process, managing high-stakes partnerships, and translating client challenges into winning commercial submissions. If you possess "Strategic Presence," a deep understanding of energy market dynamics, and a track record of winning multi-sector engagements, we want you to lead our growth trajectory.
Requirements:
1. Consultative Sourcing & Solution Architecture
Opportunity Engineering: Identify and qualify high-value leads across the integrated services portfolio, with a laser focus on petroleum trading and bunkering.
Co-Creation Leadership: Work in lockstep with internal consulting and delivery teams to "shape" solutions that address specific client operational or strategic bottlenecks.
Proposal Mastery: Lead the development of sophisticated Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and commercial tenders, ensuring the value proposition is clear, persuasive, and technically sound.
2. Commercial Governance & Function Leadership
Sales Function Maturation: Lead the evolution of the sales and marketing function, establishing clear account ownership models and rigorous pipeline management disciplines.
Performance Orchestration: Monitor team output against KPIs, providing the coaching and corrective direction required to maintain a high-velocity commercial engine.
Deal Structuring: Support the Finance and Legal teams in complex pricing, commercial modeling, and contract negotiations to ensure long-term profitability and risk mitigation.
3. Relationship Diplomacy & Brand Positioning
Trusted Advisor Status: Build and sustain "C-Suite" relationships across the energy and public sectors, positioning the company as a primary partner in transformation and strategy.
Strategic Partnerships: Identify and manage external alliances that enhance service delivery capabilities or provide access to new market segments.
Thought Leadership: Enhance brand visibility by participating in industry events and driving market-facing initiatives that establish the company as a sector authority.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. (An MBA or relevant Master's is a significant advantage).
Experience: 8–12 years post-graduation, with at least 3 years in a senior management or business development leadership role.
Sector Mastery: Proven exposure to Petroleum Trading and Bunkering markets is essential, supported by an established professional network.
