Job Description:

We are seeking a commercially elite and risk-aware Business Development Manager to anchor the growth engine and credit-integrity framework of our organization. In a high-velocity lending landscape where institutional momentum is dictated by the velocity of loan origination and the precision of the risk-assessment filter success is defined by "Portfolio Sovereignty" the ability to harmonize aggressive client acquisition with the clinical precision required for Credit-Risk Stewardship, Asset-Quality Governance, and Strategic Pipeline Architecture. This role is designed as an "Growth Command Center" a critical mission for a seasoned financial professional who can blend "Sales Grit" (mastering the complexities of loan-product positioning) with the "Structural Agility" required to execute High-Fidelity Credit Workflows.

Requirements:

1. Acquisition Sovereignty & Pipeline Architecture

  • Sovereignty of the Pipeline: Drive client acquisition (SMEs, corporate, individuals), acting as the primary "Source of Institutional-Growth Throughput."

  • Market Architecture: Develop proactive sales pipelines through strategic partnerships and networks, providing the "Structural Foundation" for sustainable lead generation.

2. Credit Governance & Deal Structuring

  • Structuring Architecture: Structure loan proposals (tenor, pricing, repayment) that align with internal policies while maintaining client suitability, providing the "Functional Foundation" for healthy assets.

  • Intelligence Stewardship: Gather and analyze market trends and competitor activity to support business strategy, maintaining the "Source of Competitive Advantage."

3. Portfolio Integrity & Lifecycle Stewardship

  • Disbursement Sovereignty: Manage the end-to-end onboarding process to ensure timely disbursement and clear client understanding of obligations, acting as the primary "Source of Operational-Readiness."

  • Performance Architecture: Monitor post-disbursement client performance and track repayment behavior, providing the "Relational Foundation" for early-warning escalation (Collections/Risk).

  • Velocity Logic: Utilize CRM Toolkits to maintain accurate records, maximizing the "Source of Data-Driven Decision Momentum."

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Experience: 5–7+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within a financial institution (lending, microfinance, fintech, or banking).

  • Technical Power: Deep knowledge of credit processes (loan structuring, risk assessment, financial analysis) and regulatory frameworks (CBN guidelines).

  • Aptitude: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to thrive in a high-pressure, target-driven environment.

  • Mindset: Proactive, analytical, and ready to maintain "Portfolio Sovereignty" in the fast-paced Nigerian SME/Corporate lending market.
