Job Description:
The Business Development Executive will play a critical role in expanding Shieldvase's presence across Abuja and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering construction material market data, identifying high-demand products, engaging suppliers and truck operators, visiting construction sites, generating leads, promoting Shieldvase solutions, and producing actionable market reports.
Requirements:
Market Intelligence & Data Collection
- Collect current market prices of construction materials across Abuja and neighboring locations.
- Capture high-quality images and product information for construction materials.
- Upload and maintain accurate product information on the Shieldvase.io platform.
- Monitor market price fluctuations and identify pricing trends.
- Gather supplier information including contact details, inventory levels, and delivery capabilities.
- Conduct competitor analysis and monitor activities of other building material suppliers and marketplaces.
Construction Site Engagement
- Visit active construction sites daily to promote Shieldvase products and services.
- Introduce customers to Shieldvase features
- Smart Logistics Services
- Generate leads from builders, contractors, architects, project managers, and developers.
- Convert site visits into registered customers and active users.
Supplier Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Identify and onboard construction material suppliers.
- Build relationships with manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
- Verify supplier credentials and product availability.
- Negotiate favorable pricing and partnership agreements.
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier database.
Logistics & Truck Network Development
- Collect logistics and transportation data from truck drivers and fleet operators.
- Build a database of trucks category
- Onboard truck operators and logistics partners onto the Shieldvase platform.
- Monitor logistics rates and transportation market conditions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education
- Diploma, HND, BSc, or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics, or related fields.
Experience
- 1–5 years experience in business development, sales, field marketing, construction, logistics, procurement, or marketplace operations.
- Experience working within the construction industry is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build relationships with suppliers and contractors.
- Excellent data collection and reporting skills.
