Job Description:

Stanbic IBTC is committed to building sustainable talent pipelines and expanding its capacity to serve the Nigerian business landscape. We are currently seeking experienced Relationship Managers to join our team in Abeokuta. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic management of an existing portfolio of business clients while proactively onboarding new enterprises. Your goal is to act as a trusted advisor, driving profitability through tailored financial solutions and exceptional service delivery.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the financial needs of small businesses and has a proven track record of converting leads into long-term, profitable partnerships.

Requirements:

Portfolio & Relationship Management

  • Client Retention: Manage and nurture an existing portfolio of business clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.

  • New Business Acquisition: Identify and onboard new small businesses and corporate entities to expand the bank’s market share.

  • Advisory Services: Act as a business consultant to clients, offering insights and financial products that support their growth and operational efficiency.

Sales & Profitability

  • Revenue Generation: Drive the profitability of your assigned portfolio through the strategic cross-selling of banking products and services.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends and competitor activity within the Ogun State business corridor to identify new growth opportunities.

  • Account Maintenance: Oversee the end-to-end account opening process and ensure ongoing compliance with banking standards.

Technical & Operational Support

  • Product Expertise: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the bank’s business product suite to provide accurate and effective solutions.

  • Systems Usage: Utilize product-related systems and digital platforms for efficient service delivery and data management.

  • Data Interpretation: Analyze client data and financial performance to identify upselling opportunities and mitigate risks.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Degree: First Degree in any field of study.

  • Experience: 3–6 years of professional experience in a sales or relationship management capacity.

  • Industry Domain: Cognate experience within the financial services industry, with specific expertise in managing small business (SME) portfolios.

Technical Competencies

  • Customer Insight: Deep understanding of customer behavior and business financial requirements.

  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with business banking products, account maintenance, and credit facilities.

  • Systems Proficiency: Ability to navigate banking software and internal product systems effectively.
