Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Assistant Manager, Quality Control to serve as the secondary authority for product safety and technical excellence. In the beverage and water industry, quality is our primary brand promise. This role is designed for a veteran microbiologist or quality professional who can manage complex laboratory operations, oversee production-line compliance, and ensure that every unit meets both global and national (NAFDAC/SON) standards.
With 8–10 years of experience, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the physical, chemical, and microbiological integrity of our products. Requirements:
1. Microbiological & Chemical Governance
Contamination Control: Lead the microbiological monitoring of raw water, treated water, and finished products to ensure zero-pathogen presence.
Chemical Analysis: Oversee the testing of pH levels, TDS, alkalinity, and mineral content, ensuring strict adherence to the defined beverage formula.
Laboratory Leadership: Manage the daily operations of the QC lab, ensuring equipment is calibrated and reagents are managed for maximum accuracy.
2. Production Line Quality Assurance
Process Auditing: Monitor the "Clean-In-Place" (CIP) processes and bottle-blowing/filling operations to prevent batch-level contamination.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Design and enforce rigorous QC SOPs across the production floor, ensuring factory staff maintain uncompromised hygiene standards.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate batch failures or sensory deviations, implementing immediate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
3. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
Statutory Alignment: Ensure the facility and products remain fully compliant with NAFDAC, SON, and NIS standards.
Audit Readiness: Serve as a key liaison during external regulatory audits, maintaining meticulous records of all quality tests and certifications.
Team Mentorship: Supervise and train QC analysts and lab technicians, fostering a culture of "quality-first" thinking within the department.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or a closely related scientific field.
Experience: 8–10 years of documented success in a Quality Control role, specifically within the Beverage or Bottled Water sector.
Technical IQ: Mastery of water treatment technologies, beverage chemistry, and microbiological plating techniques.
Core Competencies
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Nigerian regulatory frameworks (NAFDAC/SON).
Leadership: Proven ability to manage a technical team and influence production staff.
Analytical Grit: High attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex lab data and make swift "go/no-go" production decisions.
Location: Must be ready to work and attend physical interviews on the Lagos Mainland.
