Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Assistant General Service Officer / Maintenance to oversee the technical integrity of our facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of all company infrastructure, including high-capacity generators, industrial machinery, and electrical systems. Your primary mission is to ensure zero operational downtime by implementing rigorous preventive maintenance schedules and responding with urgency to technical emergencies.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering and has hands-on experience in a hatchery, factory, or agro-allied environment.

Requirements:

Facility & Infrastructure Maintenance

• Routine Inspections: Carry out daily inspections of buildings and infrastructure to identify structural defects or maintenance needs.

• Repairs Coordination: Oversee and coordinate repairs for plumbing, roofing, flooring, and general office/factory aesthetics.

• Environment Stewardship: Ensure that all operational facilities, including specialized areas like hatcheries or factories, remain in peak working condition.

Machinery & Power Management

• Preventive Maintenance: Design and execute servicing schedules for operational machinery to significantly reduce breakdown rates.

• Power Systems: Monitor and maintain company generators; track fuel usage, performance metrics, and regular servicing intervals to ensure uninterrupted power.

• Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve faults in machinery and electrical installations promptly.

Electrical & Appliance Oversight

• System Optimization: Ensure all electrical systems, lighting, and industrial appliances (ACs, fans, refrigerators) function optimally and safely.

• Safety Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to electrical safety standards and company safety policies during all repair activities.

Operational Support & Administration

• Emergency Response: Act as the first responder for maintenance emergencies and equipment failures, even outside of regular working hours.

• Vendor Liaison: Supervise external contractors and technicians during major specialized repairs.

• Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all repairs, servicing activities, and spare parts inventory.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Degree: OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Experience: 2–4 years of practical maintenance experience specifically within an agro-allied, manufacturing, hatchery, or industrial setting.

• Environment: Ability and willingness to work in factory and field operational environments.

Technical Competencies

• System Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical systems, industrial generators, and mechanical machinery.

• Troubleshooting: Advanced ability to diagnose technical issues and implement effective, long-term solutions.

• Documentation: Strong organizational skills for maintaining maintenance logs and performance trackers.

Core Soft Skills

• Reliability: Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively during crisis situations.

• Communication: Clear and effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to safety and equipment precision.
