Job Description:

We are seeking a highly analytical and disciplined Accountant to lead our settlement and reconciliation operations. In the high-velocity world of e-business and digital banking, success is defined by "Transactional Fidelity", the ability to ensure that every kobo moving through our e-channels is accurately accounted for, settled, and protected against revenue leakage. This role is designed for a "Financial Controller" with 3–5 years of experience (ideally ICAN/ACCA qualified) who can blend "Analytical Rigor" with the "Regulatory Stewardship" required to manage bank-wide settlements and statutory returns.

Your mission is to ensure "Seamless Value Transfer and Total Revenue Assurance." You will be the primary steward of our transactional health: responsible for daily reconciliation, managing payment partner relations, and ensuring 100% compliance with FIRS, LIRS, and PFA mandates. If you possess "Operational Excellence," advanced Excel mastery, and the ability to detect under-settlements before they impact the bottom line, we want you to drive our financial integrity.

Requirements:

1. Transactional Reconciliation & Settlement

  • Daily Fidelity: Perform rigorous daily reconciliation and posting of all transactions, providing management with daily/weekly reports on over- or under-settlements.

  • E-Channel Verification: Verify all incoming and outgoing payments on e-channel accounts, supporting the E-business team in resolving complex settlement discrepancies.

  • Payment Partner Diplomacy: Liaise with settlement banks and payment processing companies to resolve under-settlements and ensure alignment with company policies.

2. Revenue Assurance & Facility Monitoring

  • Income Governance: Monitor income and fees meticulously, ensuring that all earned value is promptly and accurately transferred to the bank’s accounts.

  • Loan & Facility Oversight: Monitor deductions on loans and facilities across various banks, reconciling them against the specific terms and conditions outlined in offer letters.

  • Bank Liaison: Maintain active communication with various bank account officers regarding direct debits, standing orders, and unidentified credits or charges.

3. Compliance & Management Reporting

  • Statutory Stewardship: Process and remit monthly returns for FIRS, LIRS, and PFAs within seven days of deduction, ensuring zero-penalty compliance.

  • Dashboard Intelligence: Develop and send daily dashboard reports to management, providing a "Real-Time" snapshot of the bank's settlement status and financial health.

  • Process Leadership: Lead initiatives for organizational change within the finance department, driving efficiency through financial software and advanced analytical tools.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. An MBA or professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, or CPA) is highly preferred.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience in finance, specifically within settlement, reconciliation, or revenue assurance.

  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and Financial Modeling).

Core Competencies

  • Regulatory Grit: In-depth knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, risk management, and compliance standards.

  • Analytical Prowess: Strong decision-making skills with the ability to identify patterns in high-volume transactional data.

  • Communication Mastery: Excellent verbal and written skills for liaising with external payment partners and internal management.
