Job Description:

The accountant is responsible for managing an organization's financial records and ensuring the accuracy of financial information. Key duties include:

  • Recording and maintaining financial transactions.
  • Preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Managing budgets and monitoring expenditures.
  • Preparing payroll and processing employee salaries.
  • Calculating and filing taxes while ensuring tax compliance.
  • Reconciling bank statements and financial accounts.
  • Monitoring cash flow and managing company finances.
  • Conducting audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Advising management on financial planning and decision-making.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documents.
  • Ensuring confidentiality of financial information.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
  • Identifying financial risks and recommending improvements to internal controls.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN) is an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, auditing, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports, meet deadlines, and comply with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
