Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and highly disciplined Accountant to join our finance department. This role is central to our operational integrity, requiring a professional who can navigate the complexities of financial record-keeping, statutory compliance, and cost management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will provide the accurate financial data necessary for management to make informed strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate is an analytical expert who balances technical accounting mastery with a deep understanding of Nigerian tax laws and internal control systems.

Requirements:

Financial Reporting & Bookkeeping

• Transaction Management: Accurately record daily sales, expenses, purchases, and all other financial transactions.

• Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and maintain comprehensive financial records and reports in line with accounting principles.

• Period-End Reporting: Generate detailed weekly and monthly financial reports to provide management with visibility into business performance.

Treasury & Payroll Operations

• Reconciliations: Perform regular bank statement and company account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.

• Payroll Administration: Prepare monthly payroll and ensure the accurate calculation of statutory deductions.

• Cash Flow Oversight: Monitor accounts payable and receivable to maintain healthy liquidity and vendor relations.

Compliance, Tax & Audit

• Statutory Obligations: Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax laws, including timely remittance of VAT, PAYE, and Pension contributions.

• External Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, banks, and relevant government agencies.

• Documentation: Ensure the systematic filing and secure retention of all financial documentation.

Cost Control & Strategy

• Inventory & Production: Monitor inventory levels and production cost records to identify inefficiencies.

• Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forward-looking financial forecasting.

• Internal Controls: Support and implement internal control procedures to mitigate risks of fraud and financial loss.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Certification: ICAN, ACCA, or ATS certification is considered a significant added advantage.

• Experience: 2–5 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates from the manufacturing or FMCG sectors.

• Technical Skills:

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting software.

  • Deep knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and payroll management systems.

• Core Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • High level of integrity and extreme attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet rigid deadlines under pressure.
