Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and process-driven Account Officer to join our finance team in Victoria Island. This role is central to our financial operations, requiring a specialist who can navigate the end-to-end cycle of receivables and payables. You will be responsible for ensuring that all invoices both vendor and customer are processed with surgical accuracy, tracked through e-procurement platforms, and moved efficiently toward payment.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in service-based accounting, is comfortable with Work Completion Certificates (WCC), and possesses the tenacity to follow up on payments across complex customer portals.
Requirements:
Receivables & Revenue Management
Billing Excellence: Generate and submit Service Work Tickets (SWT) and invoices to customers, ensuring they align perfectly with contracts and purchase orders.
E-Procurement Management: Follow up on submitted invoices through various customer e-procurement platforms, managing the process from submission to final payment stage.
Approval Coordination: Liaise directly with customers to obtain critical approvals, including Work Completion Certificates (WCC) and other supporting documentation.
Payables & Vendor Relations
Invoice Verification: Process vendor invoices accurately, verifying them against internal records and service entry sheets.
Vendor Support: Manage the end-to-end payment follow-up for vendors and resolve any billing queries promptly to maintain healthy supplier relationships.
Financial Controls & Reporting
Treasury Support: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances to ensure operational liquidity.
Data Integrity: Maintain accurate records and secure databases for all company receivables and payables.
Analysis: Prepare periodic financial reports, including critical aged analysis of both receivables and payables to highlight potential cash flow risks.
Compliance: Ensure all payment processing and financial activities strictly adhere to company policies and standard accounting principles.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
Proven experience navigating customer portals and e-procurement systems.
Professional Status: ICAN certification (or being at an advanced stage) is a significant added advantage.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage, or QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel is essential).
Deep understanding of the reconciliation process and financial documentation standards.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with external customers and internal stakeholders.
